DENNIS MCNETT | WOLFBAT MEDITATIONS
Presented by : VansJuly 6 – August 11, 2013
Opening Reception:Saturday July 6, 2013 – 6 to 9pm
LAGUNA BEACH, CA:  Artists Republic 4 Tomorrow is eager to announce the return of the Wolfbat Tribe and the art of Dennis McNett to Laguna Beach. Wolfbat Meditations is McNett’s second show at Artists Republic 4 Tomorrow – a follow up to his 2012 solo exhibitionWolfbat Shamans and The Whale of Gratitude where he created a massive whale from wood and hand-printed paper collage.
Wolfbat Meditations continues on the theme of gratitude, serenity and introspection. Dennis: “Starting the morning by breathing, writing, and clearing the mind opens the day to gratitude, imagination, awareness and clarity. This is easier said than done and some days are easier than others. I focus on waves, the pushing pulling swelling swirling water, the salty air, the course sand slowly warming from the sun, and patterns across the sea. Soon thoughts wander to kinetic energies, spirit beasts, stories, and structures.” Work will include a large selection of Dennis McNett’s woodcut prints, sculptural forms, wall installations, paper collage pieces and masks in mythical and animalistic creations.
